You can install 12 desktops with single iso file. On the Desktop you will see a file named myapps. In that file, you can type the name of apps, software that you wish to installed on your new system. Does not contain office suite, gimp. But you can install office suite, Gimp, Google chrome, Virtualbox and many other software without any hassles.

ShriOS is Archlinux Based Distro

Archlinux is a very fast and solid distro. It has it own way of installing & maintaining itself, called the arch way. Archlinux has no graphical installer, or rather no installer at all. It expect some degree of knowledge for installation, as well.

ShriOS is 100% opensource distro based on Arch linux. However ShriOS doesn't blindly rejects everything that isn't opensource. Media codecs, for example, are installed even if those aren't open source. So you may consider ShriOS that is open source but yet may contain software that isn't opensource.

ShriOS offer 12 Desktops

ShriOS single installation medium offer you 12 Desktops to install. You can choose any desktop from the calamares installer. You may choose Xfce, Plasma, Gnome, Cinnamon, Mate, lxde-gtk3, lxqt, Budgie, Deepin, Cutefish, ukui, Pantheon.

Please note that Budgie, Deepin, Cutefish, ukui, Pantheon aren't recommended as they break a lot.

ShriOS is a rolling release distro.

ShriOS is a rolling release distro and so is Archlinux. Rolling release means that updates are given whenever they are ready. You don't have to wait for any specific date or intervals to get updates.

Rolling release has the benefit of getting the latest operating system & Software. However it too has its own limitations & drawbacks.

ShriOS comes with configurations.

ShriOS comes with pre configured audio, video and other drivers at system level such as Zram enabled, automatic backups. ShriOS also comes with user level configurations, such as automatic login, if you enable them during installation.

ShriOS also comes with an app called shrisysconf, which allows to remove any pre configurations with a single click.

Though any system can corrupt. ShriOS eliminates this possibilty through Automatic Backup System. Arch linux itself is rock solid, Even in wrost case, you break your system just reboot. ShriOS offer your recovery in 3 easy steps.

  • From Grub boot menu select ShriOS Bootable Snapshots latest by Date.
  • When system loads in Snapshot, just click restore.
  • When the proccess completes just reboot normally.

ShriOS Bootable Snapshots feature is available on Btrfs systems only.
